Owning a home on a lake is a wonderful opportunity, and many homeowners are content to let their home's location be the best part about their property. But there are many Lake Wallenpaupack lakefront homes that could benefit from making a few additions. Here are a few additions that we recommend for your lakefront property in order to make it even better.

Sun Room

Many lakefront homeowners want every aspect of their home to highlight the lake's presence. Since you pay more for this location, this makes perfect sense, and adding a sun room onto your home is a great way to do just that. A sun room on the back of your house, facing the lake, would allow you to enjoy a complete, unobstructed view of the lake as you relax with a cup of coffee or a good book. And unlike a back porch, a sun room can be used rain or shine, all year round. You can relax in your comfortable, temperature-controlled sun room and enjoy the lake's beauty throughout every season.

Master Bedroom Balcony

The master bedroom in your home should be a place of relaxed luxury, and a big part of that in a lakeside property is being able to enjoy your view of the lake. A wonderful way to do this is to add a private balcony to your master bedroom. Or, if your master bedroom is on the ground floor, you can add a private deck. This allows you to step outside on sunny mornings and enjoy a peaceful, private view of the water. Having large French doors or a sliding glass door will also provide you with a lovely view from the comfort of your bedroom.

Fireplace

Sometimes, the wind coming off of the lake can be quite chilly. On those colder evenings, it can be truly delightful to curl up beside a fireplace and soak in a little warmth. If you don't already have a fireplace in your lakefront home, consider adding one so that you can enjoy the luxurious feeling of a warm fire while gazing out the window at the nearby water.

Private Dock

Of course, you want to be able to enjoy the lake as much as possible, which means that you should have easy access to the water. If you don't already have one, build a walkway straight down to the water's edge along with your own private dock. This gives you a great place to dangle your feet in the water, fish with your children, or load up in the boat for a day out on the water.
